DESTINY TRYOUT THIS WEEKEND - Part 2
Since 2004, Destiny has traditionally conducted a tryout at the beginning of the year and going into this 2007 season, it’s our largest in attendance yet. After only advertising the tryout via word of mouth and on myspace.com, we managed to have up to 49 players compete for a spot on Destiny’s D1 team.
We have solidified our sponsorships for the year and will be disclosing our sponsors within a week or so, but rest assured, we have not only most of the same support from last year, but even more than before. One sponsor that we are proud to mention whom will continue their support of Destiny is ZAP/ARCHON. This past weekend, one of our latest sponsor additions, Island Paintball, was there to help during the tryouts alongside Michael Wise, Destiny’s new manager of the team and owner of Chrono300.com, and another new sponsor to the team, Katspix.com. Hollywood Sports is negotiating a contract with Destiny as the 2007 field sponsor and that’s where we are holding the tryouts this weekend. Most of the players here are all from the west coast with a good mix of SoCal and Vegas residents. One came from as far as Honolulu, Hawaii, and another as far as the state of Washington. The average age of those trying out is 16 with a handful of 14 year olds in that mix.
The excitement has already begun for Destiny and we couldn’t be happier. 2007 is going to be a great year. Even Kevin, Destiny’s “Kid” is here! Thanks, Kevin!
