Destiny All-Female Makes History!!!
At the 2008 NPPL Huntington Beach Super 7 event, Destiny is the first all-female team to make it to Sunday since the inception of the NPPL Super 7! During the prelims, we won 6 games out of 8. Going into the quarter-finals, we were in the 14th place seat out of the 32 teams competing in D2. We matched up against Ground Control in a best two out of three situation quarter-finals. The first game was a draw and we were actually up in bodies (6 up) against their last 4, but bodies alive at the end doesn’t count. In this season’s quarter-finals, it’s just based on wins and losses and in order to win, a team has to hang the flag (no points for pulling the flag). Well, needless to say, the outcome was not a favorable one for us, but overall, this was a very successful event considering it was our first event together as a completely new roster. Our next event will be May 3rd at Ft. Detrick Paintball in Frederick, Maryland where we will be hosting a clinic. On May 4th, we have a practice. Then, May 16-18, we’ll be competing once again at the NPPL Jacksonville event.
